I'm just wondering if someone can give me a few pointers here so that I can understand the basics of real world combining like terms. I find solving equations really difficult. I work in the evening and thus have no time left to take extra classes. Can you guys suggest any online tool that can help me with this subject?
Algebrator is a useful program to solve real world combining like terms questions. It gives you step by step solutions along with explanations. I however would warn you not to just copy the answers from the software. It will not aid you in understanding the subject. Use it as a guide and solve the problems yourself as well.

I must agree that Algebrator is a great thing and the best program of this kind you can get . I was amazed when after weeks of frustration I simply typed in adding functions and that was the end of my problems with math. It's also so good that you can use the program for any level: I have been using it for several years now, I used it in Algebra 2 and in Algebra 2 also ! Just try it and see it for yourself!
A great piece of math software is Algebrator. Even I faced similar difficulties while solving percentages, graphing function and scientific notation. Just by typing in the problem workbookand clicking on Solve – and step by step solution to my algebra homework would be ready. I have used it through several math classes - Intermediate algebra, Basic Math and Pre Algebra. I highly recommend the program.
