evaluating algebraic expressions symbolically on ti-89

Hi there I have almost taken the decision to hire a math tutor , because I've been having a lot of problems with algebra homework recently . Every day when I come home from school I spend all my time with my algebra homework, and after all the time spent I still seem to be getting the wrong answers. However I'm also not completely sure whether a math private teacher is worth it, since it's not cheap , and who knows, maybe it's not even that good . Does anyone know anything about evaluating algebraic expressions symbolically on ti-89 that can help me? Or maybe some explanations about adding matrices,absolute values or relations? Any suggestions will be much appreciated .

Don’t be so disheartened . I know exactly how you are feeling right now. When I used to be a student , we didn’t have much of a hope in such a situation , but these days thanks to Algebrator my son is doing wonderfully well in his math classes. I fully agree with what has just been said. Algebrator has always come to my rescue, be it an assignment or be it my preparation for the final exams, Algebrator has always helped me do well in algebra. Algebrator is the program that I have used through several algebra classes - Algebra 1, Pre Algebra and Algebra 2. It is a really a great piece of math software. I remember of going through problems with linear inequalities, linear algebra and converting decimals. I would simply type in a problem from the workbook , click on Solve – and step by step solution to my algebra homework. I highly recommend the program.
