problem solving for 5th grade

I've always wanted to excel in problem solving for 5th grade, it seems like there's a lot that can be done with it that I can't do otherwise. I've browsed the internet for some useful learning tools , and checked the local library for some books, but all the information seems to be targeted at people who already know the subject. Is there any tool that can help new students as well?

Can you give details about what exactly is the problem solving for 5th grade assignment that you have to work out. I am quite good at working out these kind of things.
