how do you solve addition and subtraction logarithm equations?

Greetings everyone! I have a serious problem regarding math and I was wondering if someone might have the ability to help me out somehow. I have a algebra test in a short while and even though I have been taking algebra seriously, there are still a a couple of items that cause a lot of stress, such as how do you solve addition and subtraction logarithm equations? and adding fractions especially. Last week I had a meeting with a private tutor , but many things still remain vague to me. Can you propose a good method of studying or a good tutor that you know already?

Thanks for the detailed information , this sounds awesome. I wished for something exactly like Algebrator, because I don't want a software which only solves the exercise and shows the final result, I want something that can actually show me how the exercise needs to be solved. That way I can understand it and next time solve it without any help , not just copy the results. Where can I find the program ?

Algebrator is the program that I have used through several math classes - Pre Algebra, Remedial Algebra and Basic Math. It is a truly a great piece of algebra software. I remember of going through difficulties with graphing parabolas, least common measure and solving inequalities. I would simply type in a problem homework, click on Solve – and step by step solution to my algebra homework. I highly recommend the program.
